Distance: 60 km

The Ardèche is located in the south of the region, between the Rhône Valley and the Massif Central, and, like most French departments, is named after the river that flows through it. The upper reaches of the Ardèche River in the mountains offer a variety of contrasting landscapes: gorges, basalt streams of volcanic origin, bright basins with orchards and vineyards, castle ruins, villages boldly built on mountain promontories in the middle reaches, and in the lower reaches the deeply cut, winding Gorge de l’Ardèche, an outstanding natural beauty in the French Midi.

It is an impressive and unforgettable experience to paddle along the Ardèche in a kayak and pass the natural bridge Pont d’Arc, the access to the 30 km long Gorges de l´Ardèche.
